Atom Greenlights ‘Stickman Exodus’ Creators’ Puppet ‘Fuzz’

Brooklyn-based Waverly Films, the cleverly twisted folks behind Atom’s Streamy-nominated (and Webby winning) animated web series Stickman Exodus, have just had their latest pitch, The Fuzz, greenlit and funded by Atom and Comedy Central. Waverly’s Christopher Ford is creating the series slated to premiere later this year on Atom.com.

If you were a fan of Stickman Exodus’ ruthlessly wacky humor, rejoice: the new show, entitled The Fuzz, is about an upswing in crime – and the resulting collaboration between people and puppets in the police force. The show is currently approved for a five-episode online run, with plans to develop a half-hour pilot that could lead to on-air distribution via Comedy Central.

‘Whorified’: The Name Says It All, Really

You know that web television has made it when they beat the Bravo to the punch on a new reality show.

On second thought, when that new reality show is AcuteTV’s Whorified! The Search for America’s Next Top Whore, Bravo probably passed on it a year ago. Creators Ann Marie Lindbloom and Jeff Venables arrived on the web series scene last year with Two Peas in Your Pod, which made Forbes Magazine called one of the Top 15 indie series on Veoh.

Whorified! is a tongue-in-cheek reality show that adopts the conventions found in reality TV stapes like America’s Next Top Model, Project Runway, and Top Chef for a new show based around, well, the world’s oldest profession. The promo was posted about a year ago – looks like this show has been a long time in coming before its premiere on May 1st, setting the stage for drama, pitting businesswomen, housewives, and ladies from all walks of life together to compete for a shot at the title of Top Whore.

‘Ten Sundays’ Still Stuck On Couch

Toronto-based Mars on Mars Independent Productions has released the first five episodes of its black-and-white web series, Ten Sundays, a seemingly simple show about two best friends who live together — and spend basically all of their time on the couch.

The series, each of which is part of a set of Sundays that happens chronologically, is directed by Canadian filmmaker Pavan Moondi and stars Brian Weadick and Mike Sloan.

As for the characters, David (Weadick) and Jesse (Sloan) are a couple of post-college pals who trade snippets of snarky advice on subjects like job interviews and dating. The entire ten-episode series takes place on the pair’s living room couch and kicks off when David falls for a bossy girl and Jesse forgets his reason for living after messing up a critical job interview.
