Geeks, hold your breath, because you are going to need that air to cheer on Comics on Comics, a pop-culture video podcast in its second season with a cape-load of comic-book guests and a colorful pool of knowledge.
We’re talking people like Len Wein (who was sporting a Justice League of America t-shirt), the creator of comic-book icons like Swamp Thing, and, oh, I don’t know, this hairy guy named Wolverine. Adamantium skeleton, exceptional healing factor. Maybe you’ve heard of the him? Wein was also an editor for Alan Moore’s Watchmen. The show has also drawn other geek-idols like LOST genius and co-creator Damon Lindelof. Seriously? How does one get an audience with people like this?

Despite being too risque for YouTube, Facebook, and even MySpace, the web series from Flyover Country, USA that “informs teens about responsible sexual practices through sketches and straight talk” is the perfect amount of lewd for Comedy Central. That’s right, if the pilot pans out the Midwest Teen Sex Show will soon be known as both the [...]

Well it’s official, in case you haven’t noticed, sci-fi is hot right now. Rumors had been flying around town about Goodnight Burbank and Abigail’s Teen Diary creator Hayden Black’s new upcoming musical comedy sci-fi series, The Cabonauts.
Set in an intergalactic space taxi cab, episodes will feature various characters busting out into original song while on their cosmic trips. Numerous celebrities are expected to be in the series including some sci-fi staples— Star Trek (its various incarnations), Buffy, Alien Nation, Buck Rogers and Dr. Who.
The 15-episode first season is said to be quite a sizable production, exceeding that of last summer’s indie runaway musical hit Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog. Helping to offset that of course will be an exclusive deal with Dailymotion, which will release the series exclusively on site for the first month of each new episode.

You’ve laughed with and at their shows on My Damn Channel. You’ve read about them in Time magazine. You’ve watched them spoof the entire Internet. You’ve witnessed accolades bestowed upon them by the Streamy and Webby Awards. Now catch them in person. Tilzy.TV is totally psyched and incredibly honored to announce our next New York [...]

The web series American Contestant, starring comedian Bob Odenkirk, hits a beautiful note of absurdity with its lampoon of American Idol. One of the appeals of Idol is, of course, personal backgrounds. Those stories we learn about each singer; their ups and downs in life before making it on a stage alongside Seacrest. Sure it [...]

CBS Television Distribution (CTD) has picked up Katalyst Media’s animated gossip web series Blah Girls, for distribution as one-minute interstitials between segments of its daily entertainment show The Insider.
Katalyst, headed up by founders Ashton Kutcher and Jason Goldberg, has roots in television and film along with its more recent moves in new media. Most notably its long running hidden camera TV series Punk’d ran for eight seasons on MTV before its finale in 2007. Somewhat appropriately, they are actually re-imagining the hit series with a live internet take on it via UStream.

There’s a new web series out that entrepreneurs, investors, and venture capitalists need to follow. Yes, I’m talking about This Week in Startups, a clever podcast that provides a little look inside how entrepreneurship works.
For those who don’t know, TWiST is produced and hosted by veteran Internet entrepreneur and startup-wizard Jason Calacanis, the man behind Mahalo.com and formerly Weblogs, Inc. and Silicon Alley Reporter.
The show is a simple, easy watch that delivers compelling interviews without dumbing it down for the audience.

Do you like your sandwich with extra condiments and Scream-y comedy? How about wry chicken salad, over-the-top bologna, and witty meat loaf in equal installments between two slices of bread? Sandwich of Terror is a bizarre and wacky horror-cum-comedy series that moves from dry to spicy to overly moist (more food references!). Directed by Jeremy Westphal and [...]
