Ever since Tina Fey‘s over-sharing, sarcastic, self-deprecating persona made her the “it girl” of female comedy, it seems as if countless other comedic actresses have attempted to duplicate her mojo. In the web series My Two Fans, what Liz Lemon lacks, Kate Maxwell has on her side.

In front of an exultant packed house in the Arclight Cinerama dome, with fans gleefully singing along during the opening screening before Tuesday night’s Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog panel, Felicia Day, the queen of Internet comedy, called Joss Whedon’s three-act musical is a “turning point” in web-based series.
“When we look back at Dr. Horrible, I think that Dr. Horrible will be the groundbreaking turning point for people doing media on the web,” Day (The Guild) said at Night 4 of the 26th annual PaleyFest, where Dr. Horrible became the first web series honored by the Paley Center.
Creator Joss Whedon (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) said that he would like to create a system that makes producing web series easier for those who aren’t in the industry and who don’t have access to the means with which to produce something along the lines of Dr. Horrible.

If South Park teeters on the cliff’s edge of socially acceptable satire, then Ahmed and Salim has long since jumped off and smacked against the ground below. And that’s why we love the web. No matter how provocative or outlandish the political statement, all artists have a voice. Ahmed and Salim, created by Israeli animators [...]

We’ve all grown up watching game shows, anticipating the Plinko chips clip-clopping down the board and iconic theme songs ticking away time as contestants vie for fabulous prizes. Now there’s a new program popping up on the web that hearkens back to the Chuck Woolery era of quiz shows where contestants are tested on the [...]

These days the web is rife with talk shows, but Cherry Bomb is a bit different. It’s a self-professed first ever lesbian relationship talk show. Not only that, but it’s also a nice, candid chat over wine with some cool girls who seem like they’d make excellent friends.
The show has an exclusive deal with AfterEllen.com releasing a new episode every Friday for an approximate 20 episode run.
But what will most likely keep audiences coming back (aside from the racy topics of discussion are the stars of the show. There’s Tatum DeRoeck who dubs herself a “lesbian hiking czar,” Dalila Ali Rajah who runs with the title “mystic patron czar,” Nikki Caster, “the astrology czar” and Gloria Bigelow, “the supernatural bullsh*t detection czar.”

England, though its status has fallen from all-powerful global dominator to minor worldwide menace that hates hugs, continues to produce the cream of absurdist humor. I suppose America, third place just after Canada, can only hope to achieve dominance in this category once our empire falls and Texas renews calls for its own independence. Until [...]
