Breaking Bad is the best show on television you and I aren’t watching. The fact that Bryan Cranston picked up a 2008 Emmy award as Best Lead Actor in a Male Drama only two years after concluding his role as Frankie Muniz’s stern, yet sincere goofball father with a short fuse is a testament not [...]

Either during keynote addresses at industry conferences or through enlightening conversations I’ve been a part of, new media visionaries Fred Seibert, Jim Louderback, and Jeff Jarvis have all claimed their kids don’t know (or at least don’t fully realize) the difference between new media organizations (like NextNewNetworks, Revision3, and Blip.tv) and traditional television networks (like [...]

The strangest conversations always happen in the bedroom. That’s the premise behind Chicago-based film production company Escape Films’ latest web series, Pillow Talks.
Produced and directed by Boris Wexler and written by Wexler, Elaine Tuman and Paul Peditto, Pillow Talks charts all the intimately humorous discussions that go on when two people tuck themselves in. “Keeper” starts off as an awkward post-coital chat and ends up waxing poetic about Aishwarya Rai, “How Fat” (above) sees a gay couple going through a classic hypothetical scenario, and “Personals” explores the ways a mother can show her love for her son (get your mind out of the gutter), for starts.

Comedians Michael Ian Black and Michael Showalter have a few things in common. They share the same name with some of the greatest music artists of all time like Michael Jackson, George Michael and yes, Michael Bolton. Bolton. In fact, aside from being comedy writers, the hilarious duo are also actors. Indeed they are best friends in real life, but when it comes to their debut on Comedy Central, they might just kill each other.
Why? Because that would be @#$!ing funny that’s why.
Based off their widely popular web series on CollegeHumor.com, The Michael Showalter Showalter, the good folks at Comedy Central has picked up seven episodes of their upcoming sketch show called Michael and Michael Have Issues, which is set to hit your living room tubes this July.

The tough guy who once guarded my integrity and scruples has broken down under a barrage of consumer slogans crafted for a self-absorbed culture. I’m now willing to sell out. Advertising looks fun. At least it does in the world of AdMuse, where the word “Caulk” receives an inordinate amount of commercial attention.

What is it about a BLT that stands the test of time? As today’s trendy sandwich starts to grow mold and tomorrow’s takes sprouts, the BLT stays true. Sandwich of Terror is a new web series by the good folks at Escape Pod Films that takes the tried and true formula of The Twilight Zone and George Romero’s 80′s TV hit Tales from the Darkside and purposely delivers the comedy and camp that made these cult classics.
You might know the Brooklyn-based Escape Pod Films (E.P.F.) from their previous series, Scissor Cop, which took a few pot shots at serious police dramas and landed E.P.F. on the web series map and Channel 101 NY. If you liked Scissor Cop, chances are you’ll like Sandwich of Terror. Sandwich delivers quality writing and acting that has the aftertaste of early, not quite ripe The Kids in the Hall. Already picked up by Channel 101 NY and aired as part of the February screening at 92YTribeca, Sandwich of Terror stands out as original and unique parody that will have web series creators across the country saying, “Why didn’t I think of that!?”

We feel sorry for the lovely 72-seat Theatre Asylum as I’m pretty sure they had no idea what they were bringing upon themselves by booking a live improv show tonight in LA with A-list web stars Felicia Day (The Guild, Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog), Alex Abrecht (Diggnation, Project Lore) and Sandeep Parikh (The Guild, The Legend of Neil). Day, the creator-star of the certified hit web series The Guild, will be showing off her improv skills along with fellow Guild stars Jeff Lewis (“Vork”) and Parikh (“Zaboo”).
Also performing in the “Hammer Don’t Hurt Me” show are Tara Perry, Tanya Repanich, Eddie Repanich and Brooke Seguin. Tickets to the 9 PM show are $10, if you can still snag one. You might want to try the RSVP line: (323) 463-2942 or get there early and start groveling.

Kyle and Martin are an LA odd couple. Though roommates and best friends, you quickly get the impression they have a tendency to drive each other up a wall. Martin (played by Josh McDermitt) is the more straight-laced, quiet buddy who’s a bit shy and not so great with the ladies. Kyle (Lenny Jacobson) is [...]
