In the years of experience in his life and career, Travel Channel’s Mark Anstice is one of the last men on Earth you’d expect to be bothered by a challenge. Anstice is a survival expert who has trekked miles and miles of nature’s wild terrain. He’s also a war veteran, where he rose up the ranks in the British Army as a captain. But during his latest Travel Channel adventure series, Mark and Olly: Living with the Tribes, where he co-hosts with acclaimed international reporter Oliver Steeds, Anstice encountered something he truly wasn’t ready for—to become a father.
Oh, and it’s a girl—a tiny, cute and hairy primate. Even Anstice was forced to ask himself, “How the hell did that happen?”

I got Facebook friend request last week from one Charlie Bear. At first I wondered if I had a friend with a very adorable nickname. Then, upon visiting Charlie Bear’s page I realized I’d been Facebooked (yes, I just made a social network into a verb) by a ficticious character who happens to have his own web series Charlie, The Abusive Teddy Bear.

If you think a female news reporters named “Anita Balzac” is funny, there is an animated web series for you. Flash Sports Tonight, is, well, a flash (animation) based sports web series where two anchors host a quick recap of recent sporting news, complete with dirty jokes, cleverly named field reporters, and some brief sports commentary. There’s no question the audience for the show skews towards men who well like sports and women…and lowbrow humor.
The format of the FST eps are the essentially the same as the ESPN flagship Sportscenter that it so cleverly mocks.

Easter eggs are delicious, creme filled, chocolate-covered byproducts of an adult wearing a bunny costume. Easter eggs are also intentionally hidden messages or inside jokes that content creators put into their final projects (movies, books, CDs, video games, etc.). What do you get when you combine Watchmen, the Axis of Comedy, and easter eggs? Online [...]

Music videos are perhaps the pinnacle commercial form of video art – forever testing boundaries and pushing cinematic techniques with always-distinctive styles and often obtuse symbolism. The democratization of the means of video production AND now the lines of distribution have opened the gates of music video creation to a whole new class of hyper-creative [...]

“I’m a performer at heart.” That’s the first thing you need to know about Dame Delilah, proprietress of “Dame Delilah’s Fantasy Ranch & Gift Shoppe.” But Dame Delilah doesn’t perform anymore because she’s taken the reins at this family-run sex ranch outside Winnemucca, Nevada (a city Johnny Cash once visited). The ranch has been passed [...]

If you’ve been watching season after season of Project Runway hoping to see Heidi Klum lighten up a bit, then I’ve got just the show for you. Go catch the debut episode (above) of Spiked Heel over at Modelinia and prepare to be blown away.
Just Jared.com tipped us off that the show will feature guest appearances by Michael Kors, Leighton Meester of Gossip Girl, and Project Runway Season 4 winner Christian Siriano. Sounds like a veritable who’s who of high fashion, so check it out at Modelinia. No word on whether Christian will choose to go with his established catchphrases (“Fierce” and “Hot Tranny Mess”) or choose Spiked Heel as the moment to break a new one for this year’s Fashion Week.

Four unemployed college graduates residing on the Upper East Side of New York are looking for a get-rich-quick scheme (Who hasn’t?). The degenerates include: Hath, a former clown but desperate to achieve, John (soon to be Sasha) overly into women, Russ, the overweight guy, and don’t forget the cute red headed girl Sarah, former event planner who is documenting the boys to stay on their syphilis effected sofa.
Show creators Michelle Fix and Jake Beesley have shaped a new way to get sponsors involved with the show. Throughout season one you see the characters interacting with products all labeled “Your Brand Here”. A great way to show sponsors what they could get in return for some coin? Perhaps. At least it’s encouraging to see some new sponsorship tactics getting thrown around.
