I remember when I was younger, reading The Amityville Horror back to back in one sitting. It completely freaked me out but I couldn’t put it down. I think I was so engrossed because I believed everything I read was true and there really was some sort of rank demon pig haunting that family. As [...]

Winter Break seems so short during college; after all, it’s only a month.
Winter Break for Attention Span Media’s Dorm Life fans, however, has been going on for much, much longer. We last caught up with the Dorm Life crew (creators Jessie Gaskell, Jim Brandon, and Brian Singelton) in late October to discover exactly what went into the making of the most popular web series on Hulu.com and we haven’t heard much from them since. So we’re glad to announce that, finally, you can shed your internships, ditch your friends, promise to call your parents every day, and move back into Dorm Life Season 2.
As it turns out, the show has inked a deal with MySpace, so you’ll be able to catch all the Season 2 episodes on MySpace Video’s (fka MySpaceTV) Dorm Life page two days before they show up on any other video websites. The first episode is scheduled to debut this Saturday, February 28th. What’s more, they’ve landed a sponsorship with burger chain Carl’s Jr., so hopefully we can expect to see the series continue without any more 9-month breaks. Maybe they’ll work the sponsorship into an episode about the Freshman 15.

A year ago I discovered I really liked a couple early Doobie Brothers records (Toulouse Street & The Captain and Me). This was a shocking revelation, but after confessing to some peers of respectable taste I found I was not alone. Early-’70s Doobies is pretty great. But the closer one gets to the ’80s, the [...]

Why are the Brits so funny? Created by Nathaniel Tapley and Justin Gayner (who also appear in the show), British web series The Meeting is a hilarious take on group therapy. The requisite British dryness permeates the various, sometimes shocking addictions of these poor people…masturbation, anyone? Or, how about water-sports with a wheelchair bound sex addict required to speak through a computer a’la Stephen Hawking? Honestly, in the wrong hands, this could be terrible, but oh my, is this show good.
Tapley writes, Gayner producers and Jamie Lennox directs with a generally fluid camera that is both unobtrusive, and right where it needs to be at all times. But the performances are out of this world. With eight characters, seven of which are addicted to something, ranging from the aforementioned ‘wanking’ to crack (from the most unexpected of users, the plain-jane, death-obsessed ‘Elaine’, played by Katherine Jakeways) to caffeine. The final character being the moderator, a kind, well-meaning priest named Christian, played by John Voce. Whose straight-man to his various clients is punctuated with amazing comic timing. I’ve never laughed louder at anything web, than the opening to Episode 5, ‘Brendan’, which solely rests on Christian’s interjection to Brendan’s intro of himself.

Casual, meaningless sex is revered with a comic wit in the new 10-part web series Hell Froze Over. Threesomes, dating mishaps, and one-night stands have never been funnier. Well, maybe they were in My Damn Channel‘s Wainy Days, but that’s more of a gozno comedy. This Misplaced Planet production, like the classic online original We [...]

The mockumentary, produced by LA-based Attention Span Media (Sock Tube, Lakeman), premiered in February of 2008 and documents the lives of the inhabitants of dormitory 5-South through the lenses of a documentary camera crew and [...]

What would you do if you woke up one morning to find a mysterious black cloud descending on top of the city of Los Angeles, killing everyone around you?
If you’re a real Angeleno, probably nothing – you’ve probably been taking smog for granted for years already. But this isn’t real life, this is The Black Dawn, a new sci-fi web series from WebSerials.com that started airing January 31st on WebSerials and YouTube and has followed a weekly release schedule since then. The show stars Jordan Warren, Eamon Glennon, Misty Madden, and is co-written by Brian Walton and Abraham Sherman and directed by William Hellmuth.
