Have you made your nominations for The Streamys yet? With over 50,000 nominations cast (and counting) since we announced the awards last month, there is no question that creators and fans are rallying behind their favorite web series of 2008. The Streamys are the premiere awards for web television, honoring everything from scripted comedy, drama, reality, political, hosted—and the creative talent both in front and behind the camera.
Here’s the deal, the top nominated entry in each award category will automatically be one of the finalists. So yes, you’re helping out your favorite show/host/actor/writer/composer even if they have already been nominated. And don’t worry if your favorite series doesn’t have a ba-gillion teeming fans yet, the remaining finalists in each category will be selected from the nominations by the newly formed International Academy of Web Television, made up of some of the top creators and pioneers in web television. (More on the Academy, including membership is coming soon).
For the Audience Choice Award—which is entirely picked by the public—voting on the final five will begin February 15th. So get nominating and tell your friends! Nominations close this Friday January 23 at 11:59 PM (PST).

Since the Awards will honor achievements in 2008, eligible web series must have at least three installments released at some point in 2008 to qualify.
Inaugural sponsors for the Streamys include Blip.tv and TubeMogul, with more to be announced soon.

Hi, I would love to nominate a show, but every time I try I get an error telling me that there’s only one submission per user or something, even though I am only making one submission. This has been happening for days now and it’s kind of driving me nuts and making me not want to vote. What’s the deal?

Each IP address is limited to a single nomination in each category. Most likely, if you are attempting to nominate from work (or behind any shared router), someone else has already submitted a nomination in that category from your IP address. We do this to prevent individuals from attempting to game the nominations process.
