@Samantha – we had a debate about this one. Apparently there’s some confusion about the term “Muppet” which is a trademark originally of Jim Henson Company, which was purchased in 2004 by Disney. Ther term also more generally refers to “marionette” + “puppet.”

Either way, many of Jim Henson’s original Muppets were licensed to Sesame Street and are still used today.

Thanks for your comment. While many Muppet-type puppets have been mistakenly credited as Henson creations, Sesame Street does in fact feature actual Muppets.
